Story About Us
PHF

Who are We?

Potters Heart Foundation is a Non-Profit organization that offers a safe haven for at-risk youth in a family environment. The Potters Heart Foundation’s goal is to engage hard-to-reach, at-risk youth between 13 and 19 years old who have not yet successfully connected with the school, employment, and other community services and supports.

We will engage youth and connect them with needed services and collaborate with other community resources to coordinate their activities within identified neighborhoods. We will ensure that we provide a safe haven for youth who are at risk and connect them with resources that will offer them an environment to strive and become stable adults.

As a non-profit organization, our goal is to raise funds and get all the support that we can to help our community’s neglected youth transition to better homes, transform themselves, instill healing, achieve faith, and grow in fostering communities. We provide a family environment that encourages positivity.

Being displaced or lost in the system leads to many emotional, mental, and economic instability in a teenager’s life. Our program helps struggling teenage boys and girls (especially those from the black community) who lack direction, are abusing drugs, are exhibiting negative behaviors, and are making poor decisions to get back on their feet and foresee a better future for themselves.

We give them the guidance they need to rise above their past and embrace the future while learning to overcome all of the negatives in their lives.

Mental Health Support

Mental and emotional well-being is one of all teenagers’ primary needs as it’s an age of significant changes. Transitioning from a detention facility, foster care, or becoming homeless can affect anyone’s mental health, so it’s vital to offer support to those who have been impacted by the system and help them gain control over their lives.

Substance Abuse Support

The drug and alcohol abuse/addiction problem among teenagers and young adults continue to be a major issue in Gwinnett County and the surrounding areas. The first thing to remember is that you are not alone. We help youths in developing a new drug-free lifestyle and find long term recovery.

Basic Needs Support

One of the most fundamental needs of any person, youth or adult, involved in the juvenile justice system, aging out of the foster care system, or becoming homeless, is access to live’s basic necessities. We at Potter Hearts Foundation work day in and day out to offer all those who are a part of our program everything they might need.
